Chad Urbshott, P.Eng.
Chad has been involved in real estate and construction nearly his entire life. He spent the first several years of his career engineering significant buildings such as an airport terminal and several casinos. From there, he moved into the construction and development aspect of the business for a prominent multi-billion dollar Constructor, working with developers to substantiate the viability of real estate developments who then oversaw their design and construction.
Chad’s personal acquisition of real estate investments started in 2007 with the purchase of several single family homes and creating lease options with prospective tenant buyers. From there, his investments evolved into larger properties ranging from commercial land to multi-unit student apartments, as well as the development of a 3-story office building. Over the past five years, Chad capitalized on the lucrative opportunity of investing in US properties, as he discovered many distressed and foreclosed properties could be purchased for significant discounts compared to those in Canada. In 2013, he formed Equigrowth Capital to strategically acquire properties throughout the US, for the purpose of yielding above average returns while building equity for the company and its investors. When he unearthed the world of distressed mortgage note investing, Chad then recognized that he could combine both his passion for real estate and finance to produce exemplary returns in this alternative investment niche.
Chad is the President of Equigrowth Capital. He holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering Science from Western University, graduating “With Distinction”. He has also completed Executive Development programs in Finance and Marketing from both Ryerson and Queen's University respectively, and taken the Canadian Securities Course.
